A senior-led tax and finance advisory firm
BlockCore Partners advises digital asset, energy and AI infrastructure, technology, and investment companies. Across all of them, the hard problems look alike: new kinds of assets, entities that span jurisdictions, and rules that are still being written.
Our story
How the practice was built
Our Managing Partner has advised companies on tax and finance since 2011, across digital assets, energy and infrastructure, technology, and investment funds.
These clients rarely fit existing guidance. Their assets are new, their entities span jurisdictions, and their capital structures change quickly. That work built a practice around questions without settled answers, such as how a token is taxed when it is issued, exchanged, or converted into equity, how fair value accounting changes a tax provision, and how a data center keeps an incentive it has already claimed.
BlockCore Partners brings that experience together in three practices: tax advisory, transactions and restructuring, and fractional finance leadership.
How we operate
Three commitments on every engagement
Senior-led
The person you hire is the person doing the analysis. We don't staff engagements with layers of junior reviewers.
Decision-ready
We write conclusions and the support behind them, sized to the decision in front of you.
Coordinated
We work directly with your auditors, counsel, and other advisors, and we tell you when a question belongs with someone else.
Leadership
Who you will work with
Dan Mendes, CPA
Managing Partner
Dan Mendes is Managing Partner of BlockCore Partners and leads its tax, transactions, and finance leadership work. He advises public and private companies, foundations, and funds on digital asset taxation, income tax accounting under ASC 740, M&A tax due diligence, token-to-equity restructurings, and state tax incentives for data center and mining operations.
Dan currently leads tax and treasury, on an interim basis, for an SEC-reporting bitcoin mining and digital infrastructure company. He chairs the audit committee of a public digital asset company and holds board and audit committee seats at other digital asset and investment companies.
He works regularly alongside Big Four and national accounting firms and major law firms, as the client's tax lead or as a technical advisor to the deal team. Dan is a licensed CPA.
